About the Mayoress

Bournemouth, which was one of Elaine’s favourite holiday destinations, was the place Elaine and Rod chose for retirement. On moving to Bounemouth Elaine joined the League of Friends of the Royal Bournemouth Hospital to help with the fund raising. In 2007 she was elected as a Councillor for Wallisdown and Winton West Ward, a role which she hugely enjoyed. Since standing down in 2011 she has become an Elder at Richmond Hill St Andrews UR Church, a committee member of the Bournemouth Civic Society and has retained connections with the North Bournemouth Children’s Centre and the RBH League of Friends.
